Well, hello, dear adventurer! My name is Irena and I welcome you to my humble madhouse!

(Sorry, that was a bit corny, but I just really wanted to say it.)

Anyway, I used to be an English and Croatian language and literature student, and now I have a Masters degree and a great need for a new hobby. Hence, this blog happened. It is a place for me to write about the books and themes that interest me. I will also post some of my short stories, which I’ve never had the courage to do before. I’m also planning to write some new stories, explore different topics, genres and writing styles in the hope that it could help me improve my writing.

Besides books, I like tea, chocolate, autumn and cute animals.

        1. I love 1Q84 and The Wind-up Bird Chronicle. His most well known novel is Norwegian Wood, but I haven’t read it yet. It’s less magical realism than the others, as I’ ve heard, and a good place to start, but I love when he makes his world entirely “crazy”. XD

          1. I just got through Norwegian Wood last month. This is going to sound scandalous but I was not blown away by it. The writing (translation?) though was good enough to make me want to try again. I will have to look up Wind Up Bird. Have heard loads of good things about it 🙂

    1. I like almost all kinds of teas, but I prefer herbal teas to fruit teas. I’d say I love white tea the most, but I’ve recently discovered this green tea blended with rose and jasmin called The Rose of Orient and it smells and tastes perfect so it’s my new favourite. 🙂
